Randal S. Mashburn focuses his mediation and litigation practice on commercial and business disputes. He has mediated a wide range of cases including matters such as contract disputes, fraud litigation, business dissolutions, executive compensation, bankruptcy litigation, debtor-creditor problems, banking matters, and other similar issues. While his experience is broad enough to allow him to handle most any type of mediation, he has particular expertise in matters involving various types of financial transactions and commercial disputes.

Background
Randal has more than 20 years of experience as a litigator dealing with contract disputes, bankruptcy matters, lender liability issues, director/officer liability, shareholder disputes, partnership dissolutions, lien priority disputes, Uniform Commercial Code issues and other types of business, commercial and financial disputes. In addition to a long history of litigating such matters, a significant portion of his practice now involves serving as mediator for a wide range of business disputes. He is qualified as a Rule 31 mediator by the Tennessee Commission on Alternative Dispute Resolution and is on the ADR panel for U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee. He is certified as a business bankruptcy specialist by the American Board of Certification, and his experience includes the representation of creditors, debtors, trustees, committees, examiners and receivers in bankruptcy and insolvency matters. Randal served as a judicial law clerk for judges on both the United States District Court and the Tennessee Court of Appeals. He has spoken on bankruptcy, creditors' rights and alternative dispute resolution at dozens of seminars sponsored by bar associations, industry groups and other continuing legal education programs. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America and in Chambers USA Ranking Guide of America's Leading Business Lawyers. He is a Past President of the Mid-South Commercial Law Institute and is a current member of the Board of Directors of the Tennessee Association of Professional Mediators.

Education/Training
Undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee and law degree from the University of Memphis; attended Rule 31 certification training program from Training Resolution Resources Corporation; attended numerous mediation training programs conducted by the American Bar Association and other groups.
