Jan has been a family and divorce mediator for the past 20 years and has sucessfully mediated hundreds of cases. Her focus is on assisting parties in decreasing the financial and emotional cost of resolving divorce and parenting plan issues. Jan often works with couples prior to their retaining attorneys, so that in the event they reach agreement there can be an uncontested divorce upon one or both retaining an attorney to process their agreements through the Court.
Jan also works with unmarried parents, post-divorce parenting issues including child support, and as a Parenting Coordinator in high conflict divorce/post divorce situations.

Background
 Jan has a social work background having worked for what is now DCS prior to attending law school. She was Special Master of the Fourth Circuit Court where she investigaged "custody" cases. She has been a family law attorney for many years and now limits her practice to uncontested divorce, mediation,collaborative law and parenting coordinaton services.

Education/Training
 Jan earned a B.S. degree from the University of Tennessee Knoxville and a J.D. degree from Nashville School of Law.
Jan has received extensive training throughout the country in family and divorce mediation and has also been trained as a collaborative law attorney. Jan is trained in the mediation of family conflicts involving domestic violence and has extensive training as a Parenting Coordinator to assist high conflict families avoid post divorce litigation.

Fee Information
 Jan's hourly mediation rate is $250.00 and she usually schedules a session of 90 minute. Longer sessions are schedule if attorneys are present. She has made every effort to keep her mediation services affordable so that parties can spend the time necessary for the development of a durable agreement.
